Montana is home to numerous general aviation airports, and every airport has its unique challenges. One of our hallmarks is the ability to develop unique approaches to securing the local match for FAA funded projects. We work closely with Airport Boards in pursuing and implementing "out of the ordinary" funding packages.
One of the most important aspects of successful airport development is an early investment in planning and design. For more than ten years, Stelling Engineers has helped the local aviation industry rise to new heights with our aggressive approach to project development.
Our experience in planning, land acquisition, and obtaining funds, as well as design and construction management, has made it possible for us to complete several major airport reconstruction projects throughout the state. In addition, our seasoned staff has developed professional relationships with key decision makers at the FAA and MAD.
Stelling Engineers designed and administered the complete reconstruction of five award-winning airport projects. Since 2000, four have received the Montana Aeronautics Division "Airport of the Year" award and one received the prestigious "FAA Northwest Mountain Region Award."
An Aviation Case Study
Typically with many General Aviation Airport projects, unforeseen situations pose one challenge after another, tossing curve balls at nearly every aspect of the project until everyone involved wonders if the airports will ever "get off the ground." Stelling Engineers not only stays the course on these projects, but also steps beyond the status quo of normal engineering practices to get the job successfully completed. These projects usually entail more work than anyone ever anticipates, yet becoming shining achievements when completed.
