STORM WATER COLLECTION >> Polson-East (MT 35)

Design of improvements for the complete reconstruction of SR 35 involving the realignment of SR 35 at Highway 93, 1 mile of reconstruction of US 93, new frontage road, traffic studies, signalization, Environment Assessment, Access Management, lighting, landscaping, storm water, ROW documentation and irrigation ditch relocation. This project involved the design of 3 miles of storm drainage improvements, including a 4 acre storm water detention pond, 1.6 miles of urban 3-lane, 1.2 miles of rural roadway, pedestrian trail and bike path on both sides, and tiers of sheet pile retaining walls with “stone look” concrete veneer. This project involved numerous public meetings, coordination with landowners, city, county, and CSKT Tribal officials.

SEI held a pre-design conference with the City to confirm the Scope of Work and needs for the project. Frequent coordination with the City was also required for collection of the engineering data necessary for design. Construction plans and specifications were included with the MDT administered roadway project. Interim construction cost estimates were prepared for both the 50% and 100% design reviews. Final plans were submitted to the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) for review and approval prior to bidding. SEI provided Contractor shop drawing review for equipment for conformance with the plans and specifications. SEI also conducted full-time inspection of the work to insure compliance to the MQ approved plans and specifications.
