Fed-Ex Air Cargo: Storm Water System
In conjunction with the new Fed Ex Air Cargo Facility constructed at Great Falls Intl. Airport in 1999, Stelling Engineers, Inc. completed a Master Drainage Study of the entire Gore Hill Facility to include nearly 2000 acres of Airport property. The Master Drainage Study recommended the reconstruction of the existing storm water conveyance system between MANG and the airport terminal and the construction of a new conveyance system to pipe storm water off Gore Hill to the Sun River.
In 2003, Stelling Engineers, Inc. designed and administered the construction of approximately $2.4 million in storm drainage improvements identified in the Master Drainage Study including an aerated glycol treatment system, two PVC lined storm water detention ponds, hydraulic structures for conveyance off Gore Hill, sanitary sewer line extensions, curb and gutter, and security fencing. The work was completed in December, 2003.
Montana Air National Guard
This project included an analysis of two problem areas for drainage at the Montana Air National Guard including the replacement of wastewater conveyance lines, removal and replacement of concrete pavement adjacent to the above ground fuel tanks, new storm drain lines, inlets, and grading.
The design of storm water conveyance lines was coordinated with construction of new storm drain improvements sponsored by the Great Falls International Airport. The work was completed in the fall of 2003 at an approximate cost of $250,000.
